Bluebird Festival, Coniston, 11 to 15 May 2026
I was eleven years old when Bluebird crashed killing Donald Campbell and couldn't miss the chance to see Bluebird run again on Coniston.
There have been a lot of unkind remarks about the troubles with the boat during the week but Donald had problems getting her on the plane almost 60 years ago so it wasn't that surprising that there were problems which the team worked hard to try to resolve..
I didn't get to see her plane as we had to leave on Friday morning but the sight of Bluebird back on Coniston was unforgettable.
